Air Sahara , backed by the Sahara group was launched on the 20th of September, 1991. It was initially launched under the name “Sahara airlines” and on the 02nd of October, 2000 was re-named as “Air Sahara”. After one unsuccessful attempt, the Jet Airways achieved success of the 12th of April, 2007 in taking over the airline. Mr. Naresh Goyal proudly added the airline and decided to name it “JetLite”. Jetlite, a wing of the reputed Jet Airways is headquartered at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. The wide network of the airline includes major cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Kolkota to name a few.
The Aim
Jetlite is positioned as a low cost airline and thus, makes it possible for larger number of people to travel by air. Jetlite offers low fares without making any compromise on the safety of the passenger and the quality of services provided.
The Fleet
The airline, Sahara airlines, as it was
known earlier, began operations with just 2
aircrafts of the category of the Boeing
737-200. Today the fleet includes 1
Helicopter and 3 Ecureuil
